Beaches of Nerja

The most attractive spots in Nerja are its’ beaches and they have lured a fair number of tourists to make a trip there. In fact there are many beaches in Nerja; interestingly there is a marked difference of the beaches in comparison to the ones one can witness in other places of Spain. The difference is the coastline which is rather rugged in Nerja ensuring the sands to be removed therefore people who expect to see the conventional yellow or white sand beaches may be in for surprises. It is known that authorities have to cough up hefty amounts to make arrangements of sand in the beaches. Now let’s take a look at the beaches we get to see in Nerja in order of their preferences.

BURRIANA BEACH is located at the eastern most side of Nerja and has a span of 800 meters. This beach is comparatively wide and one can see a mixture of fine sand and pebbles that also makes walking comfortable here. People who love their day out in here would get ample facilities which they might want like the bars, restaurants and even shops which provide you with all the necessary things needed to spend the day in the beaches.

PLAYAZO BEACH is another one which prevails to the West of Nerja, and is known to be the longest beach. The attributes of the beach are almost same as of the Burriana beach and this happens to be the ideal spot for people to get a good sun bath or for a long walk. However this place is not much populated because of the unavailability of services like the bars and other essential means. To enjoy this beach its best to carry all the essential things and have a picnic for a day.

Salon beach lies to the western side of Balcon de Europa and towards the downside of Unicaja bank but this beach happens to be the least visited and one reason for that maybe its not easy to find a way in there unless properly known.

TORRESILLA beach is located at the bottom of the town centre has been ideally customized for the tourists and efforts have been made to make the beach deeper and wider. There are bountiful resources here for the beach lover to enjoy.

CALAHONDA beach is situated to the east of Balcon de Europa there are many rocks in either side of the beach and the walk up to this place can be quite steep. Not too many people would spend time here due to the limited resources. Nevertheless, this beach is most popular by photographers standing upon the Balcon de Europa.

CARABEO beach can be referred to a small bay which gets to join the densely populated Burriana beach and is perhaps the least crowded.

Overall there is something worth seeing in each of these beaches regardless of the facilities available. The natural beauty of these beaches is bound to stay in the memory for a long time and the experience of being there is unforgettable.
