South Texas favorite beach destination. This tiny island (34 miles long, and half-mile at its widest point) was always known as a favorite srping breakers destination, although is still well pack in spring break it has also become a popular year-round destination for families and retirees. The Island has all kind of lodgin, from modest motels to luxury resorts, but a very hot spot in the beach is the Radisson Hotel, this is the place to see and to be seen. All kind of sports can be arranged from the main hotels in town, Windsurfing is the most popular watersport pacticed in the "Laguna Madre Bay" , other sports are fishing, parasailing, jet-skiing and many more. If you´re planing golfing there is a great golf course in the Island. Schlitterbahn Waterpark is the choise if you are visiting the Island with children. The are all kind of restaurants in the Island, from Italian to Mexican, but mainly there are fast food chains all over the Island, when the night comes, Louie´s Back Yard is the place to be, the famous club is well packed during the spring break.
