Miami´s South Beach, also known as SoBe. A world recognized hot spot, South Beach (also known as SoBe) is a section of Miami Beach, Florida that encompasses the lower 23 blocks of the island from the point south of 1st Street to 23rd Street. South Beach area lifestyle offers great cuisine, nightlife, arts, shopping, and a great sandy beach, the most popular, and logical, activity on South Beach. Ocean Drive is South Beach's landmark drive along the ocean here, outdoor cafés and bars dot the way with some shops located right on Ocean Drive, this is also the ideal place to learn, or practice, rollerblading. It is also home to several prominent restaurants including: News Cafe, Mango's, and Clevelander and is the site of Gianni Versace's former ocean front mansion.In the 1930s an architectural revolution came to South Beach bringing Art Deco, Streamline Moderne, and Nautical Moderne architecture to the Beach. Ninety minute guided walking tours of the Art Deco Historic District are offered every Wednesday thru Sunday. Conducted by local historians and architects to provide an introduction to Art Deco, Mediterranean Revival, and the Miami Beach Architectural Historic Distric.
