The only generally recognized towns on the island are Kralendijk and Rincon. Kralendijk has many suburbs/neighborhoods. The islanders are extremely sensitive to the fragility of the environment, which has produced Bonaire's most unique advantage, the Bonaire Marine Park. The park completely surrounds the island and also encompasses the waters surrounding a 1,500 acre offshore cay called Klein Bonaire.
