Manzanillo, Sailfish capital of the World.

Manzanillo is located in the state of Colima. The city, located in the Pacific ocean, contains Mexico´s busiest port. Manzanillo is also a beach resort and as the Sailfish capital of the world, host a yearly sailfish fishing tournament, devoted fishermen should plan their trips to Manzanillo from late November to early February when the international tournament take place.

Manzanillo host a range of family, midrange and luxury hotels and resorts, with their own beaches, the tourist zone of Manzanillo consist of two bays with beaches, each about 4 miles in lenght. Bahia de Manzanillo is closer to downtown and is the older tourist section. Bahia de Santiago, to the west, is the newer and more upscale area.

Surfing has become popular in Manzanillo especially on Miramar beach. If you are looking for some local life, Playa San Pedrito and Playa Audiencia will be good places to go.Playa Salagua can be a very treasurous beach with high waves and strong undertow, however the river is often used by locals for bathing and swimming.

Manzanillo offers some of the most amazing accomodation  on the Mexican Riviera, as well as 3 of the most acclaimed golf courses: Isla Navidad, Las Hadas and El Tamarindo. Manzanillo nightlife is fun even though this destination is peaceful and relaxing.
